Parent Works is a North East of England based company, offering a range of training courses designed specifically for people who work directly with families. Our courses are aimed at assisting parent & family workers in engaging with, and working effectively with, parents and carers in their day to day work.

We recognise that there are many family/parent work practitioners, working in a variety of settings – such as Children’s Centres, Children’s Services departments, health services, community and voluntary services – who may have had little opportunity for specialist training in this area of work, or who may need to refresh their knowledge and skills.

Parent Works Training is designed to support such staff in their work and in ongoing professional development.

We use an interactive approach and a wide variety of learning activities, based on current research and national developments. We include a Professional Learning Journal as part of our courses, to enable participants to record their learning & skill development and to identify ongoing professional development needs.

Parent Works  Consultancy service offers organisations a consultancy, advice and support service to support & inform service developments.

We have experience of conducting parent consultation work within Sure Start programmes and on behalf of local authorities, to inform the development of parenting strategies.

We are able to facilitate consultation meetings, focus groups and information sessions.
