About Us

Parent Works Training & Consultancy service is run by Margaret Holdforth & Denise Sutton who have both worked professionally in the field of family support and social care for many years.
 
Both Margaret & Denise are strong advocates of parenting support and education in achieving positive outcomes for children.

Margaret is a qualified social worker, registered with the General Council for Social Care and over the past 33 years has worked in a variety of children & families services, including parenting assessment, managing the development & delivery of family services, outreach services & group work.  With sound management experience – in various team management posts (early years, children & families resources, under eights), and most recently as a Sure Start local programme manager – Margaret has a thorough understanding of the challenges of family work and the professional development needs of parent/family work practitioners.

Margaret is a qualified and experienced trainer.

Denise is a qualified social worker, registered with the General Council for Social Care. Over the past 27 years, Denise has worked in a range of children & families services, including early years, residential child care, field social work, parenting assessment, outreach & group work.  As an experienced manager within early years, children & families resources, and in more recent years as a Sure Start local programme manager, Denise has significant experience within the field of children and families.  She has a sound understanding of the issues faced by practitioners working within this field and is aware of the increasing demands placed on parent / family work practitioners both in terms of practice and professional development.

Denise has recently become a registered trainer with Parenting UK and is a qualified and experienced trainer.
